Who we are
We're the Big City Parents Organization (BCPO) - a crew of parent volunteers. Our organization was founded with the goal of creating a more diverse and inclusive community by providing scholarships. We believe that every child deserves a chance to thrive, no matter their background or circumstances. We know that as parents in San Francisco, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to raise our children surrounded by different people and experiences and it all starts at school!
But don't worry, we're not just a boring fundraising organization. We're all about keeping our parent community connected and thriving with fun events and initiatives that have a real impact. Don't have time to volunteer or wondering how we manage it all? Some of us take on leadership roles, while others like to jump in for specific events and projects, but we all share the same passion to make a positive difference in the lives of our fellow parents and kids.
This school year, we've been keeping busy with exciting events like the Halloween Potluck, Valentine's Day bake sale, quarterly BareBottle Happy Hours, and school-wide park meet-ups. And while we're all about having fun, we also know that our big fundraising event, the Spring Gala, is critical to our success. It takes a lot of hard work to make it happen, but with the support of our community, we know we can make a real difference.
Whether you have a few spare hours to help out with an event or want to get more involved in our organization as a whole, we welcome your contributions and ideas. Let's work together to make the big city years the best they can be for both parents and kids alike. And don't forget to connect with us on Slack to stay up-to-date on all the latest news and events!
